Iris farm deals with the production and aging of Parmigiano Reggiano exclusively obtained from organic farm milk; it is a closed cycle farm, from the cultivation of fodder which feeds the cows that produce the milk with which Parmigiano Reggiano is produced and many other dairy products such as caciotte, caciocavallo, ricotta, butter, cream cheese, panna cotta, yogurt, stracchino and ice cream, all produced internally in the farm.
The suggestive place, nestled on the hills of the Parma Apennines and in the area of the Colli Matildici, the strategic position a few kilometers from Parma, the series of products available can whet the curiosity and taste of visitors.
The farm organizes visits for groups, to the barn and to the dairy and at the end of the tour it is possible to taste the products in the restaurant called “La Veggia da Iris”, built in an old barn where vigils have been held since the past. ..
“The game of cards in the barn. In winter, the heat of the animals, in the flickering light of an oil lamp, in a rustic and friendly atmosphere,” vigils “were made, occupying time in different ways and very often playing a carte “(from Parmigian Traditions)
