Upon returning from vacation, Parma City of Gastronomy is ready to make your return less traumatic. What awaits you is a month full of events, almost every day in Parma and the province there is something to do, listen to, see or enjoy.
No coincidence that the event of the month is titled “Settembre Gastronomico”, because our food products will be the absolute protagonists of the period. The event starts immediately on September 3rd with the “Cena dei Mille”, a long table in Piazza Garibaldi and Strada della Repubblica, an open-air gourmet restaurant for a thousand people. Guest star will be Norbert Niederkofler, who will work alongside the Parma Quality Restaurants team. The dinner will have a beneficial purpose: the funds raised will be donated to Emporio Solidale Parma, which assists over a thousand families in difficulty.
The dinner tickets are sold out, but there are two other gourmet events not to be missed: two evenings with taste walking through the hidden gardens and cloisters of the city, Friday 13 September from the garden of Palazzo Bossi Bocchi to Palazzo Soragna and Palazzo Pallavicino, Friday 27 September from the garden of the Convitto Maria Luigia to the Chiostro delle Maestre Luigine, the dishes will be prepared by the Parma chefs Quality Restaurants from aperitif to dessert, with live musical accompaniment. With “Giardini Gourmet” you will taste the green side of Parma.
Thanks to “Conoscere le filiere” you will instead know how Barilla pasta, Rodolfi Mansueto preserves and Parmalat products are made: establishments open to the public with free guided tours! A unique opportunity to see up close some of the most famous foods in the world.
And if you are in the city and hunger surprises you, throughout the month of September the Portici del Grano host the Parma Bistro where every week a different product will be presented with lunches, tastings, show cooking, cultural moments.
In addition to the Gastronomic September, Prosciutto di Parma is also celebrated next month: the “Festival del Prosciutto di Parma” has reached its 22nd edition and, as every year, celebrates the famous product in its land of origin, Langhirano, with a party from 6 to September 15th which includes gastronomy, meetings, music (with the live of Edoardo Bennato) and the highly anticipated Finestre Aperte, the moment of the year when the Prosciutto factories open their windows to the sea wind to sweeten the meat and at the same time let them open for the curious to show how the delicious ham is made.
All you have to do is consult the complete September Gastronomic program so as not to miss an event!
