The Museum of Prosciutto is located in Langhirano, the recognised capital of prosciutto, in the former Forum Boarium complex. In a hilly landscape rich in character, the museum, through machinery, tools, documents and images, tells the story of the territory and the pig breeds on which the quality of the products depended. There is talk of salt and pork products; the secrets are revealed of the process, the many cold cuts of Parma tradition and the role of the Consortium of Prosciutto di Parma in safeguarding quality.
